The outreach and extended ministries of the First African Baptist Church seek to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ while meeting the needs of the congregation and others. We seek to fulfill the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the homeless, disadvantaged, lonely, incarcerated, troubled, lost and discouraged.

Our historic congregation reaches the youth in various ways, including but not limited to our after school self esteem and awareness tutorial program, Project Success and our youth entrepreneur program, AMEN Enterprises.

The men of the church minister through the Trusted Partners ministry while assisting in the Jail ministry and the Path Finders Support groups who help people find support in many different areas of life including rediscovering life after substance abuse (alcohol, cocaine, marijuana, etc.). A primary resource in this ministry is the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia’s Land of Promise.

First African Baptist members partner with the Economic Opportunity Authority of Savannah, Georgia to help reduce and eliminate despair and homelessness through its various programs including Independence Center. Members of the church and those related to members of the church can participate in the growing ministry of the FAB Church Federal Credit Union.

In an effort to remain (or become) physically fit and avoid conditions, hazards and situations that are not conducive to good health, the Collier/ McDew Health Promotions Coalition assist in providing invaluable services from health screening to affordable home ownership.

Jesus came to seek and save those who were lost. He met many needs in His quest to reach the “unreachable”. At First African Baptist Church, we desire to do the same with the resources that God has given us..
