There are five ministries that comprise the First African Baptist Church.

Christian Education

This department creates and monitors Christian teaching within the church. This is executed through Sunday School, Bible Study, Vacation Bible School , Scheduled Workshops and conferences and the attendance of members at various congresses and conventions.

Mission

The mission of the church to serve others is implemented through this ministry. Such groups as the Missionary Society and Mission-in Action comprise this group. Also members are involved with mission teams to assist those outside the church family with various needs. The Birth month ministry is an in-house ministry to members within First African Baptist.

Music

One of the renowned areas of the African American church is that of music. Our music ministry is complemented with the sounds of the Celestial, Chancel and Children's Choirs. There is also a male ensemble, the FABulous Male Chorus, which provides music to the congregation. Not only does the music ministry provide harmonious tunes for the worship experience, but also they participate in workshops and fellowships with churches throughout the nation.

Youth

The youth ministry is one of the most active ministries within the First African Baptist Church. The youth are consistently involved in activities which foster Christian and social growth through educational and spiritual excursions.

Public Relations and Historical Preservation

This ministry monitors the information which is disseminated to the public, including the website, tours, articles and brochures. They also oversee our online gift shop.
